Kayaput essential oil
The cajaput tree is evergreen with flaky, whitish bark, dense crown and very small, creamy flowers. 4-10 meters high, the trunk is flexible and curved. In the East, it was used as a seasoning. The plant is grown on plantations in Australia and the Philippines, to obtain essential oil by steam distillation of leaves and young shoots of the shrub.
It has a woody and tart aroma, herbaceous with a cool fruity tint.
It has antipyretic, antiseptic, tonic, bactericidal, anti-inflammatory, regenerating, antispasmodic properties. Helps with acne, insect bites, muscle sprains, colds, toothaches, lice, oily skin, nervous tics, neuralgia. Removes excess fluid from the body. It has an invigorating effect on the psyche, is used to eliminate obsessive states, hysteria. Stimulates hair growth. Suitable for massage and bath.
In a glass of warm water, 4-6 drops of a rinse and warm compresses. For massage and bathing, 6-8 drops of ether are enough. To relieve itching from bites or pimples, apply dotwise to affected areas.
Forbidden for pregnant and lactating women, children under 6 months. Do not combine with iron-containing preparations. The dosage should be observed and a skin test done before using the oil.
