Patchouli essential oil
Patchouli is a perennial shrub growing on fertile soils, with a tough and thick stem, with purple-lilac specks on white flowers. The homeland of growth is the Philippine Islands and Malaysia. From young, feathery, large and long leaves, an essential oil is obtained by steam distillation.
Aromatic-spicy and woody-balsamic, tart and floral-sweet, languid and resinous aroma, earthy lower tone.
It has antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, insecticidal, aromatizing, deodorizing, bactericidal, antiviral, astringent, diuretic, tonic, antipyretic, stimulating properties. It has a beneficial effect on the body in chronic bronchitis, nervous exhaustion, depression, insect bites, cellulite, excess weight, impotence, fungal infections. It is a very powerful aphrodisiac. Effectively lifts and firms the skin. Eliminates dandruff. Suitable for massage and bath.
Three drops of oil are enough to scent rooms. For enrichment of home cosmetics for every 20 g of base 2 drops of patchouli. For hot foot baths, 3 to 7 drops of ether will work. For massage, take 10 ml of oily peach oil and 5 drops of patchouli ether.
Prohibited during pregnancy and breastfeeding. The dosage should be observed and a skin test done before using the oil.
